The Gowns Have Arrived
In just one week, “Diana–The People’s Princess” exhibit will make its royal debut at the New Branson Exhibition Center (3950 Green Mountain Dr., Branson, 417-335-6611). The exhibition features a broad array of artifacts and images, including more than a half-dozen of Princess Diana’s gowns. This morning, Branson Vacation Magazine advertising sales representative Kim Fino got a behind-the-scenes look at the up-and-coming exhibit.
Here’s what she said:
“I saw Princess Diana’s dresses being taken off the plane and being loaded into the armored truck. I viewed and photographed the “The India Dress,” which was worn by Diana in her 1992 visit to India. It is the most intricate of the gowns. It is also gown collector Maureen Dunkel’s personal favorite dress in her collection. I asked Maureen if she ever tried on the dresses in her collection. She said no, she never had, and it was her intent to only be a collector. She also mentioned that all the dresses have only Diana’s DNA on them.”
