Black Oak Amphitheater announces 2010 lineup
A couple of weeks ago, we told you about our publisher's chance encounter stumbling upon Black Oak Amphitheater in Lampe. Since then, we've spoken several times with general manager Steve White (a super nice guy), who told us that John McEuen of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is involved in the booking this season.
Well, tonight is the initial meet-and-greet at the theater, but the press release highlighting the first season (which begins May 30) has already been made public. And it is EPIC.
Here's the rundown (good stuff at the bottom). Rock stars that we are, we're most excited for the Foreigner, Styx, and Kansas show on July 3, as well as BB King and Buddy Guy on August 28. What are you looking forward to from the list below? Tell us in the comments.

The BLACK OAK MOUNTAIN AMPHITHEATER SOON TO AWAKE WITH GREAT MUSIC
Lampe, Missouri - The Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater’s great design established it as an extraordinary venue with a history of bringing together the biggest names in music with enthusiastic concert goers under the Ozark stars, and made it a hot popular destination spot for thousands of concert attendees and hundreds of top named performers alike since 1983. Now, after a 10 year hibernation, the renovated 7,000-seat amphitheater will awaken with the sounds of stellar artists’ music. The Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater will once again bring to the Ozark audiences the level of entertainment they are waiting for and deserve.
As talent consultant, John McEuen has assembled an impressive lineup of acts for Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater's summer season in 2010. McEuen’s lifelong involvement in several genres of American music and various aspects of the music business (producer, performer, promoter) has made him uniquely qualified to negotiate and book diverse and particularly high quality acts that either never been here or have not performed in this region for years.
The venue is located at 1728 State Highway “H” in Lampe, Missouri. With the summer season opening Memorial Day Weekend, 2010, scheduled performances so far include the following artists:
