Settle in for a light lunch at The Gardens restaurant, a casual-chic diner located inside The Shoppes at Branson Meadows. (4580 Gretna Rd., 417-334-9598). Try any of the chilled soups or the tasty salads, and heartier eaters will be pleased with the prime rib burger.

For more dining with a view, eat alfresco overlooking the lake at Candlestick Inn (127 Taney  St., 417-334-3633, candlestickinn.com). Fancy is the word here. The entrée menu lists dishes such as beef Wellington, lobster tail and Chilean sea bass. And the staff is on-hand to recommend an accompanying glass of wine or beer.

Landry’s Seafood House (2900 W. Hwy. 76, 417-339-1010, landrysseafoodhouse.com) gets high marks from the locals. The menu is always changing to accommodate each season, so make the most of your meal by indulging in a little fresh seafood. You can’t go wrong with the catch of the day.
