Waterfront(ish) Bistro
With a view of the fire and water show on Branson Landing, the patio at Café diVine is both bustling and cozy all year. But what about the food?
Our region’s newest vino wonderland, Branson Ridge Winery, has a cute outpost on Branson Landing that sells wine, tasty provisions and yummy food at its bistro, Café diVine. I ordered the half hearts-of-romaine salad and half antipasto panino. It was made with sopressata, capicola, mortadella, provolone cheese, basil aioli and roasted red peppers, all pressed between two hearty pieces of focaccia bread. The first bite tasted like heaven: The salty, almost briney flavor of the meat. The sweet peppers. The herby bread that was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s just a sandwich, but I loved it. And my salad was essentially a simple Caesar, but fresh and crisp.

My dining pal, Eli Estes, ordered the turkey panino. His sandwich was simple and warm and comforting: turkey and cheese topped with sweet caramelized onions. He had his sandwich with the potato and white cheddar soup, which was delicious. It wasn’t chunky “loaded” potato soup. It was smooth and velvety (not one lumpy potato in sight), and the cheddar cheese was plentiful and sharp.
We ended the meal by nibbling on rich and spicy pumpkin cheesecake. We didn’t order wine (it was a little too early in the day), but that’s something you really should do to get the Café diVine experience. As the outpost for Branson Ridge Winery, it offers wine-tastings and sells bottles of wine, which you can pop open and sip on the patio.
