Pizza Aplenty
Branson’s plethora of pizza parlors have something for everyone.
While many cities are known for their specific style of pizza pies (See: Chicago, New York, St. Louis), Branson is lucky enough to boast restaurants serving all different styles. Whether you’re looking for live entertainment, a well-stocked bar or something more family-friendly to go along with your pizza, you’ll find it at one of these Branson favorites.
Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen
This casual family-friendly restaurant serves pasta, appetizers, subs, calzones and salads in addition to pizza. It has two crust options: St. Louis thin and New York hand-tossed. There are the regular stand-by options including Luigi’s Deluxe (sausage, pepperoni, bacon, onion, mushroom and green pepper) or there is a pizza of the month (anything from meatball pizza to Thai chicken pizza). Aspiring chefs can create their own pizza with more than 25 topping choices. 1447-F State Hwy. 248, 417-339-4544, luigispizzakitchen.com
Pizza World
For an inexpensive experience, try Pizza World, a franchise currently in four states. Pizza World has specialty gourmet pizzas, create-your-own pizzas, subs, salads, calzones, chicken wings and strips and dessert pizzas. The gourmet pizzas, like the Aloha Makana (Canadian bacon, fresh pineapple and mandarin oranges) and the Olé Mexicana (refried beans, salsa, black olives, tomatoes, beef, red onions, jalapeños, cheddar and fresh cilantro) are inspired by cultures all over the world. 3405 W. 76 County Blvd., 417-337-7778, pizzaworldusa.net
Mr. G’s Chicago Pizza
Mr. G’s Chicago Pizza is full of Chicago memorabilia, including its pizza. With two crust options (thin and deep dish), visitors should try the Special Mr. G’s Favorite (Italian sausage, pepperoni, roast beef, mushrooms, green peppers and black olives.) Pasta, sandwiches and appetizers are also on the menu. There is a full bar and three televisions to keep the atmosphere fun and casual. 202 N. Commercial St., 417-335-8156
Mr. Gilberti’s Place Chicago Pizza
Mr. Gilberti’s Place has an authentic Chicago-style pizza in an atmosphere that is very Branson, with walls displaying photos of local celebrities. But homemade sauces and fresh ingredients are the real stars this laid-back mom-and-pop pizza place. An interesting option is a new Plant Base pan pizza, which has a whole-weat crust filled with fresh tomatoes, black olives, mushrooms, spinach, eggplant, red onions, marinated green peppers and pineapple chunks. 1451 Acacia Club Rd., Hollister, 417-334-9322
Rocky’s Italian Restaurant
For a more classic Italian experience, head to Rocky’s Italian Restaurant, only a block’s walk from Branson Landing. All the tickets are still handwritten and the menu is full of fancy food selections such as the Linguine with Clam Sauce and the Pasta con Broccoli. Of course, they also have a dynamite pizza. There is only one option on the menu, they tell us, but that’s okay, because the thin-crust supreme (with olives, sausage, prosciutto and pepperoni) is the real deal. Rocky’s also has a full bar. Enjoy live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings by Bob Anderson and John Raszka. 120 N. Sycamore St., 417-335-4765
