Crazy About H2O

Lakes are the lifeblood of any Branson summer. Here’s how to best embrace the watery fun.

Crazy About H2O

Sure—sitting in an air-conditioned theater seat may keep you cool, but the best view of Branson is found on the water. With three lakes, you’ll want to schedule some time away from the audience, and plan a scenic getaway with stunning views of Branson’s most abundant natural resources (water and trees). Trust us: Any sunburn will be worth it.

Get High

Cool off by taking a thrill ride above the water. American Parasail hosts single riders or groups of two or three and flies them more than 200 feet above Table Rock Lake. Captain Sam Sandt will even dip parasailers in the water upon request. So lay back and enjoy the view from above—it’s one of the best ways to get a spectacular view of Branson. Sandt has an impressive parasailing resume. He’s flown parasailers all over the world, including Sammy Hagar and Stevie Wonder. The price for each rider is $79. To make reservations, call Captain Sandt at 417-334-2628.

Reel ‘em In

Take a break from swimming and get started with your catch. Plan for a day of bass fishing at the State Park Marina. The US Army Corp of Engineers has made Table Rock Lake a haven for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. Fishers can rent an aluminum bass fishing boat from the marina and spend anywhere from two hours to the entire day reeling them in. For more questions about fishing or to rent a boat, call the State Park Marina at 888-993-BOAT or visit stateparkmarina.com.

Cruise to Suit

Cruise Table Rock Lake in style or with a laugh.
• The Showboat Branson Belle (pictured) takes visitors on a two-hour cruise, complete with a three-course meal and a show called The Showstoppers!, a group of musicians who perform more than 30 contemporary and Broadway hits. Ticket prices range from $46 to $70 for adults and $23 to $35 for children. For more information, call 800-475-9370 or book your visit at showboatbransonbelle.com.
• That’s a classy way to cruise. But maybe you want to quack up. The Ducks, Branson’s amphibious land-and-lake touring vehicles, leave every half hour and follow different routes around Branson. Tours are $12 to $20. For schedules call 877-88-QUACK, or book your ride at bransonvacationmag.com.

Boating for One

Escape the heat by renting a boat—for one. Downstream Adventure Tours rents individual kayaks for those who want to get a little closer to nature. Kayakers can spend their time paddling down the clear waters of Lake Taneycomo or nearly 27 miles of Table Rock Lake, and guided tours are available to maximize your adventure. Guests can rent tandem kayaks if they want to bring someone along for the ride. For more information, call 417-332-7901 or visit downstreamadventuretours.com.
