Heart of America
A Branson show isn’t complete without a patriotic tribute. Here are a few of your faves.
Perhaps the most predictable—and delightful—thing about going to a Branson show is that at some point, usually toward the end, there’s going to be a full-fledged tribute to America, a moment to thank the veterans, and a song or prayer for the American armed forces currently serving. It’s simply something that every show does, and there’s rarely a dry eye in the house. It’s appropriate for a city that counts a Veterans Museum as one of its biggest attractions and Veterans Day as its signature holiday (well, besides Christmas).
To celebrate, we asked our fans on Facebook to share their favorite America-tribute moments from Branson shows.
Judy says: “Tony Roi’s Elvis Experience, with Elvis’s American Trilogy as a huge flag drops down behind him and the band, it brings people to their feet every time!!”
Aurora says: “The Duttons Show, when Bella explains why she is grateful for the American veterans who protected her Island of Samoa and other Pacific islands. She does it so beautifully and personally that it makes you even more proud to be an American. Then the Duttons follow with an upbeat medley of Armed Forces songs so that each veteran present can stand and be recognized when the song of his branch of the military is played.”
Catherine says: “The Hamner Barber Show has the most awesome tribute to America and its veterans that I have ever seen!”
Angela says: “Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Neil McCoy!”
Linda says: “Toni Roi doing the American Trilogy in his Elvis show! When he drops to one knee and prays for God to bless America it is just awesome!”
Cathy says: “The Baldknobbers’ salute to the branches of the military and Pierce Arrow’s ‘I Will Pledge My Allegiance to the Red, White and Blue’ with video backup.”
Pam says: “I’d like to go find out!”
